The Lonesome West by Martin McDonagh
presented by White Cobra Productions
An amateur performance by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd.
It seemed like an ideal posting for the young Catholic Priest Father Welsh. The tiny Irish town of Leenane, where nothing ever happens....
Two murders later and after the funeral of the father of the Connor brothers, who died due to an "accident with a shotgun", he returns to their small cottage to help the brothers cope with their grief.
Do Valene and Coleman know more about the death of their dad than they're letting on? A visit from local good time girl, Girleen, results in a few sales of the local brew Poteen, and a series of shocking and hilarious revelations, resulting in another tragic death in Leenane, but whose?
This very black comedy is part of the Leenane trilogy from acclaimed playwright Martin McDonagh.
As with many of McDonagh’s other works, this play contains very strong language throughout, and deals with themes and situations which some people may find disturbing. Equally it shows his unique talent of mixing humour with the macabre, and shining a light on people, loneliness, and the difficulty in forming and maintaining relationships in a small isolated rural community.

Wyrd Sisters by Terry Pratchett adapted by Stephen Briggs
presented by Hertford Dramatic & Operatic Society
An amateur performance by arrangement with Colin Smythe Ltd.
A play based on the Terry Pratchett's® Discworld® novel, adapted by Stephen Briggs. This is Terry Pratchett's® version of what would happen if Hamlet and Macbeth had been set in the Discworld universe.
In a small country called Lancre, three witches – the naïve Magrat Garlick, the lively Nanny Ogg and their leader, the formidable Granny Weatherwax – find themselves dragged into royal politics. It’s all there - a wicked duke and duchess, the ghost of the murdered king, a baby who is the rightful heir to the throne, dim soldiers, strolling players and a land in peril.
As the three witches battle to save Lancre and restore the rightful heir to the throne, you can expect witty dialogue, full of irony, and an evening of madcap comedy.

Home by David Storey
presented by Global Theatre Company
An amateur performance by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd.
In the autumn sunshine four people stroll and meet and wait for rain. Their conversations range over the past; schooldays, climate, the sea, moustaches, the war and families.
Where are they and what is home? A park? A hotel? An institution? As the day draws on we learn about their delusions and pretensions and see them facing the truth about themselves.
David Storey's timeless play is a beautiful, compassionate, tragic and darkly funny study of the human mind; of class and loves lost, of England and homes that no longer exist.

A play about Quantum Theory and Beekeeping! This beautiful play follows a relationship from its start to its end. It is realised through a series of scenes, each played within a different universe and suggesting different outcomes.
Although it addresses sensitive life and death issues it is a romantic comedy with depth and passion. Not one to miss.

Shakespeare in Hollywood by Ken Ludwig
presented by The Company of Players
An amateur performance by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd.
It's 1934, and Shakespeare’s most famous fairies, Oberon and Puck, have magically materialized on the Warner Bros. Hollywood set of Max Reinhardt's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Instantly smitten by the glitz and glamour of show biz, the two are ushered onto the silver screen to play (who else?) themselves.
With a little help from a feisty flower, blonde bombshells, movie moguls and arrogant "asses" they are tossed into loopy love triangles, with raucous results. The mischievous magic of moviedom sparkles in this hilarious comic romp.
Awarded the Tony Bentley Tankard for Adjudicators Award
