Scaramouche Jones by Justin Butcher
presented by White Cobra Productions

Scaramouche Jones tells the epic story of one man's extraordinary life which spans the twentieth century, from the day his mother gave birth in a Trinidadian brothel to his final performance in the circus ring on the last night of the millennium.

The play toured with the late Pete Postlethwaite in the title role, a part he loved, describing the script as "a phenomenal piece of writing and to do it justice is extraordinary".

This production of Justin Butcher's epic script was first presented as part of Northampton's Masque Theatre's 80th anniversary season. Such was the reception it received, director Kate Billingham and actor Richard Jordan continued touring the show.

Amy's View mixes love, death and the theatre in a heady and original way. A modern tragedy vibrating with passion both public and private, both moving and funny.

Martha, Josie and The Chinese Elvis by Charlotte Jones
presented by Heath Players

In modern life counselling appears to benefit us all from time to time, although the counselling Josie practices would be of doubtful benefit in the long term.

As a single parent faced with the financial problems of today she has kept together by the best means at her disposal. Alas there is a price to be paid which she has to confront on her 40th birthday.

This story with its humour, generosity of human spirit and diverse characters will bring tears of laughter and sorrow from the audience. Will truth be the explosive that blows the family apart or be the cement that draws them together. I give you Martha, Josie and The Chinese Elvis.

Saturday, April 27th

The Lockerbie Bomber by Kenneth N.Ross
presented by Tryst Theatre

The bombing of Pan Am 103 over Lockerbie in December 1988 killed 270 people and was the worst terrorist atrocity in the UK. Now, for the first time, the appalling tragedy is brought to the stage in this powerful new play which dramatises the search for the truth about the outrage.

A mixture of fact and fiction, it's set in the present day (from autumn 2011 to spring 2012) and looks at the bombing from three different perspectives - the victims' families, journalists investigating the case and the UK and US security services engaged in covering up what happened.

The play contains strong language and some disturbing scenes.

Awarded the Ted Harden Rose Bowl for Runner-Up
Awarded the Freston Salver for Audience Award
