Like A Virgin by Gordon Steel
presented by In Yer Space
Peppered with Madonna's hits Like A Virgin is both hilarious and tragic by turns as it explores the pubescent lives of two best friends, Angela and Maxine, as they seek to make it to the Top of the Pops.
Filled with all the usual teen interests: parties, clothes, boys and secret handshakes, a revelation about Angela threatens to drive a wedge between the friends and the path of their lives is soon changed forever.
This raw, touching slice of northern realism examines the importance of relationships in our lives.
Moonshine by Jim Nolan
presented by The Bovingdon Players
Set in the seaside town of Ballintra, in South Donegal, it is Easter 1991 and things are not going well. It is Good Friday and McKeever, the local undertaker, is fighting against the odds to stage a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. The cast is dwindling rapidly, the local church is closing down and community relationships are more than a little strained. Should McKeever's faith in the redemptive power of the theatre prove false, all seems destined for a bleak Easter Sunday!
Around these facts the author creates a delightfully funny and gently moving piece, in which each member of the motley cast searches for their own, private resurrection.
The Sociable Plover by Tim Whitnall
presented by The Heath Players
Sometimes bird watching can be a very unsociable pastime...
A dimly lit hide in the Suffolk marshes is the setting for Roy‟s big day. Just one more bird to spot, the elusive Sociable Plover, if he makes it he will be added to the list of all time great twitchers and get his own dot on the map. Roy has planned this day down to the last detail; the only thing he didn't anticipate was Dave.
This is an exquisitely balanced black comedy thriller. It is often funny, sometimes sad and ultimately very moving.

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) by Adam Long, Daniel Singer & Jess Winfield
presented by Katalyst Productions
All 37 plays in 97 minutes! An irreverent, fast paced romp through the Bard's plays, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) was London's longest-running comedy - 10 years at the Criterion Theatre.
Praised as 'the funniest show you are likely to see in your lifetime' by the Montreal Gazette, The Complete Works... has surely become one of the world's most popular shows. It is notable for holding the (self proclaimed) world record for the shortest production of Hamlet, clocking in at 43 seconds.... Let's see if Katalyst can beat that tonight!!
Burn This by Lanford Wilson
presented by Be-Jou Productions
Anna is a dancer/choreographer who shares an apartment with two gays, Robby (who has just been killed in a boating accident) and Larry, an advertising executive.
At the beginning Anna is recovering from the funeral comforted by Larry and her wealthy boyfriend. Suddenly Robby's older brother Pale bursts on the scene. He transforms the action of the play and the lives of those in it.
Pale is both terrifying and fascinating. In the end he brings Anna to the unsettling and compelling love that, despite her fears and doubts, she cannot turn away.
Art by Yasmina Reza
presented by The Company of Players
Serge has bought a modern painting for a huge sum of money. Marc hates it and cannot believe that a friend of his could possibly want such a work. Yvan attempts, unsuccessfully, to placate both sides.
If your friendship is based on tacit mutual agreement, what happens when one person does something completely different and unexpected? The question is: - Are you who you think you are or are you who your friends think you are?
Yasmina Reza's dazzling comedy received the Molière Award for best play, best production and best author and ran for 18 months at the Comédie des Champs-Elysées, Paris, from October 1994.
'A remarkably wise, witty and intelligent comedy . . .Art has touched a universal nerve.' The Times
