Mike Kaiser

Mike Kaiser spent over thirty years teaching English and Drama. Originally from Manchester, he has lived for over 35 years in Shropshire, where he was Head of English and Theatre Studies at the Sixth Form College in Telford.

For all of that time he has been active in amateur theatre, winning many awards for acting, writing and directing. Having taken early retirement, he now runs a Youth Theatre, works as a guest director, writes plays and organises workshops and residential courses as drama consultant. As an adjudicator, he has appeared in every part of the UK and also the Irish Republic and was in charge of the All Winners Festival in 2009.

During 2010 he adjudicated at Waltham Forest, Greenock, Midlands Area, Southern Area, Oxfordshire, Welwyn Youth, Gloucestershire and the Golden Beaks Comedy Festival. He has directed straight plays, musicals and a pantomime and devised a youth play on the life of Dr William Penny Brookes, who was largely responsible for the modern Olympics movement.

In 2011 he was seen at Avon, Worcestershire, Ballyshannon, Cambridge, Isle of Man, Gloucester, Runnymede and Wellington.

He has just completed his second term of office on the GODA Council and is the editor of their newsletter and also \'Asides\' - the annual communication which goes to every festival organiser an dorganisation concerned with promoting amateur drama.
